Tips for Optimal Printing:

• A heated bed is not required, but starting around 60°C may improve first-layer adhesion.
• PLA adheres to a variety of build surfaces (glass, PEI, etc.).
• Use standard speeds — PLA is forgiving and works well across a wide range of printer profiles.

A Few Words About Drying:

• All 3D printer filaments are at least somewhat prone to absorbing water (hygroscopic)
• PLA is slow to absorb moisture, so degradation may not be immediately noticeable
• Indications of moisture problems include popping or spitting when printing and stringy prints
• Drying may be done in a dedicated filament dryer, oven, or food dehydrator
• For PLA, dry six hours at 50°C (120°F)
