Tips for Optimal Printing:
- A heated bed is not required, but starting around 60°C may improve first-layer adhesion.
- Tough PLA adheres to a variety of build surfaces (glass, PEI, etc.).
- Use the same slicer profile as standard PLA — Tough PLA is a drop-in upgrade.
A Few Words About Drying:
- All 3D printer filaments are at least somewhat prone to absorbing water (hygroscopic)
- Like standard PLA, Tough PLA is slow to absorb moisture — degradation may not be immediately noticeable
- Indications of moisture problems include popping or spitting when printing and stringy prints
- Drying may be done in a dedicated filament dryer, oven, or food dehydrator
- For Tough PLA, dry six hours at 50°C (120°F)
